Kaltio, located on the edge of the wilderness, is easy to reach by car. From the yard you can go directly to the fell nature for hiking, snowshoeing and skiing. In early August, cloudberries grow in the nearby bog, and blueberry fields or lakes for fishing are not far away.
The village of Nuorgam is about seven kilometers away from the cottage. The village has a K-Market Nuorgam and Alko with a gas station. In the center you will also find the Art Miriam art gallery shop.
Kaltio makes it easy to move on to marked hiking trails or travel to the Norwegian side for day trips, for example. At Pulmankijärvi you will find a sandy beach and numerous snowmobile tracks that work well for skiing.
In winter, there is a private snowmobile track near the cottage. We occasionally drive on it to maintain Hillagammi and our guided snowmobile safaris. The track is well suited for snowshoeing and skiing, and when it is icy, even for fat biking.
Prepare even the most demanding meals in the well-equipped kitchen
The kitchen has everything you need for basic meals. A fridge-freezer, stove and oven, microwave, kettle and coffee maker are included in the cottage’s equipment. In the spacious living area, you can socialize with other people while cooking.
Foil or baking paper are not included in the rental price.
The spacious cottage has room to relax
The shared living room and kitchen open up to beautiful views of the wilderness all year round. During the dark season, you can see the sun hiding behind the horizon, turning the river reddish, in the summer, reindeer moving around nearby may wander into the yard, and grouse are not a rare sight in the yards of our cottages.
The fireplace in the living room warms those resting on the sofa bed in cool weather, and the air-to-air heat pump cools the space in the summer heat.
The cottage has its own wifi and television. Our cottages are also great for remote workers!
Kaltio can comfortably accommodate five people
Two bedrooms and an alcove upstairs provide enough space for up to five people. The downstairs bedrooms have shelves and closet space. The bedrooms have blackout curtains.
For an additional fee, it is possible to accommodate a sixth person in the cottage.
We also have a travel cot for the little ones in the family, ask for availability early.
Relax in a wood-fired sauna
The cottage has a separate toilet and bathroom. The bathroom has a toilet, shower, washbasin with mirror cabinet and washing machine.
The sauna’s panoramic window adds atmosphere to the sauna.
Firewood for heating the sauna and fireplace, as well as toilet paper and laundry detergent are included in the rent.
